Veenwouden is wholly contained within a valley, and vineyards lie on a gentle slope, facing northeast towards the Berg River. The cool rich ferrous clay subsoil of Veenwouden is quite unique for this area, and fortuitously happens to be superb soil.

Rich red berried, cassis, toasty oak, lead pencil and cigar box are sensory clues to a limited range of classically styled wines that achieved cult like status in just over a decade.
Our portfolio consists of six Veenwouden Wines, a Bordeaux Blend (Classic), a Merlot, a Syrah, a Chardonnay, a Chenin Blanc/ Viognier blend (Thornhill Vivat Bacchus White Blend) and a Rhone style blend (Thornhill Vivat Bacchus Red Blend).
Veenwouden is open for tasting, cellar and vineyard tours daily on weekdays, by appointment only.
